Hadibowo, Former Thomas Cup Athlete Died

Former Indonesian Badminton players, Hadibowo Sutanto, 53 years old, died in Medistra Hospital, Jakarta today, Tuesday afternoon, after got intensive care since Saturday. He was undergoing treatment in Singapore, since January 2011, due to liver cancer. Hadibowo played for Indonesia’s badminton team of championship Thomas Cup in 1984 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the time, he was paired with Christian Hadinata and won upon the Chinese pair He Shangquan and Jian Guoliang 18-14 and 15-10, and Indonesian team beat China team by a score of 3-2. Hadibowo was a badminton athlete from PB Djarum club, and he remained active as a board at the club untill his death. (Written by Damar Alam – Tuesday, June 7, 2011)
